Description

The Yale ST Hydraulic Stage Lift is a specialist heavy-duty lifting solution developed for applications where large lifting heights are required but headroom is limited. Unlike conventional hydraulic jacks, stage lifts overcome stroke limitations by using a self-climbing, inverted lifting principle, allowing loads to be raised safely and efficiently over extended distances.

Designed for hoisting equipment, hydraulic jacks and professional lifting operations, the ST stage lift operates using a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, meaning both extension and retraction are hydraulically powered. This provides precise control, smooth load handling and increased safety during lifting and lowering operations.

The lift works by raising the load from beneath while climbing onto a stack of support bars (wood or aluminium). Through a simple and proven 3-step operating process, the stage lift automatically supports the load at each stage without the need for additional holding devices, repositioning of cylinders or external locking arrangements. In theory, lifting height is unlimited, while the unit itself remains compact, stable and easy to transport.

Thanks to its lightweight aluminium body and high-strength chromium-molybdenum steel cylinder, the Yale ST delivers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. For example, the 50-tonne model weighs approximately 60 kg, making it significantly easier to handle compared with traditional heavy-capacity jacks.

The stage lift is suitable for single-point lifting, 3-point or 4-point systems, and can be operated either individually or in synchronised configurations using hand pumps, electric power packs or multi-flow pump systems. This makes it an ideal solution for lifting large structures, machinery installation, bridge works, plant maintenance and heavy civil engineering projects.

Operation principle
Stage lift positioned beneath the load in its initial resting position
Load is raised using hydraulic pressure
Support bars type ?A? are inserted
Piston retracts and load rests securely on support bars
Middle support bar type ?B? is inserted
Load is raised onto the broader middle bar
Bars are rotated and repositioned
Load continues climbing in controlled stages
Process is repeated until the required height is achieved

This method eliminates the need for repeated cylinder repositioning and ensures continuous load support at every stage.

Safety & user instructions
Always use on stable, level ground with appropriate load support bars
Ensure load is centred on the tilt saddle and load-spreading plate
Use only approved hydraulic pumps and hoses rated for system pressure
Never exceed the maximum rated capacity of the stage lift
For synchronised lifting, ensure all units are connected to a balanced multi-flow pump system
Regularly inspect hydraulic connections, seals and support bars before use
Operate only by trained personnel following standard lifting procedures
