Description
The Yale VPS pressure switch is a precision-engineered control component designed to monitor, regulate and signal hydraulic pressure levels in high-pressure systems. Adjustable between 100 and 800 bar, the VPS provides reliable pressure-dependent switching for automated and safety-critical hydraulic applications.
As soon as the preset pressure is reached, an integrated micro-switch with alternating contact is activated. This electrical signal can be used to trigger system responses such as motor shut-off, pressure limitation or pressure status reporting, making the VPS an essential component for automated hydraulic power packs and controlled hydraulic circuits.
When system pressure drops below the set threshold, the pressure switch automatically reactivates the pump, ensuring consistent pressure maintenance and stable system performance.
Function and operating principle
The VPS pressure switch continuously monitors hydraulic line pressure via its integrated pressure port. Once the user-defined pressure setting is reached:
The internal micro-switch is triggered
An electrical signal is sent to the connected control system
The signal can be used to stop a motor, activate alarms or control valves
If the pressure subsequently falls, the micro-switch resets, allowing the pump to restart and rebuild pressure. This makes the VPS ideal for pressure-guarded power packs, automatic cycling systems and applications where consistent pressure must be maintained without constant operator intervention.
