The Yale YCH Hollow Hydraulic Cylinder range is designed for professional applications where high pulling forces, precise control and rapid piston retraction are essential. Building on the functionality of single-acting hollow cylinders, the YCH series features a double-acting design with hydraulic return, making it the preferred solution for high-cycle pulling and tensioning operations.

Manufactured to Yale?s proven Chro-Mo Design, both the cylinder body and piston are produced from solid chromium-molybdenum steel and fully heat-treated. This ensures outstanding structural strength, resistance to deformation and long-term durability when operating under extreme hydraulic loads.

With a maximum operating pressure of 700 bar, the YCH range offers push capacities from 33 to 140 tonnes, while delivering extremely high pulling forces when used with threaded rods or anchor tensioning systems. The large centre hole design allows threaded spindles to pass directly through the piston, enabling controlled, high-force pulling for demanding industrial tasks.

YCH hollow cylinders are widely used for prestressing anchor bolts, removing press-fitted components, extracting shafts, axles and bushings, and as the power source in hydraulic puller sets and test rigs. The hydraulic return function ensures fast and controlled piston retraction, significantly improving productivity in repetitive or time-critical applications compared to spring-return cylinders.

The hard chromium-plated piston provides excellent protection against corrosion, mechanical wear and scoring, while ensuring smooth sliding performance under load. A replaceable, heat-treated hardened saddle allows the cylinder to be adapted easily to different pulling or pressing configurations.

Operational safety is enhanced through a high-strength stop ring that prevents piston overtravel and is engineered to withstand full operating pressure. Inner and outer dirt wipers protect seals and internal components from contamination, ensuring reliable operation in harsh workshop, site and offshore environments.

For flexible installation, metric mounting threads are provided on both the cylinder body and inside the piston, allowing secure integration into puller frames, tensioning systems and custom fixtures. Each cylinder is supplied ready to use, including two female coupler halves CFY-1 to accommodate the double-acting hydraulic connection.

All Yale YCH hollow cylinders are equipped with carrying handles for improved handling, while larger models from YCH-62/250 upwards feature two lifting rings to ensure safe transportation and positioning on site.
