Description
The Yale YS Universal Hydraulic Cylinder range is engineered for demanding industrial, workshop and construction environments where compact dimensions, precision control and exceptional durability are essential. Designed for professional operation, these cylinders combine Yale?s proven Chro-Mo-Design with advanced safety and wear-resistant features to deliver consistent performance under high loads.
Manufactured from solid chromium-molybdenum steel and fully heat-treated, Yale hydraulic cylinders are built to withstand intensive daily use. The robust construction is complemented by long piston guides and double bronze bearings, significantly reducing friction and minimising wear even under eccentric or lateral loading?an issue commonly encountered in real-world applications such as frame presses, welding fixtures and lifting systems.
Each cylinder operates at a maximum working pressure of 700 bar and features a single-acting design with spring return, allowing for fast, controlled retraction with just one hydraulic hose connection. This makes the YS series both efficient and easy to integrate into existing hydraulic setups.
A hard chromium-plated plunger provides excellent protection against corrosion, mechanical damage and scoring, ensuring smooth operation and extended service life. The piston works in conjunction with a replaceable, heat-treated hardened saddle, making the cylinder adaptable to a wide range of lifting and pressing tasks.
For enhanced safety, all Yale YS cylinders are equipped with a stop ring that carries the full load even at maximum operating pressure, preventing over-stroking of the piston. An integrated dirt wiper protects internal components from contamination, making these cylinders suitable for harsh site conditions.
Installation flexibility is a key advantage of the YS range. Metric mounting threads are provided on the cylinder base, collar and piston rod (model-dependent), allowing easy integration into jigs, fixtures, clamping devices and custom assemblies. The use of standardised metric components also simplifies servicing and repairs.
Supplied ready to use, every Yale YS hydraulic cylinder includes a female coupler half CFY-1 with dust cap, mounting threads and hardened saddle. Larger models are fitted with carrying handles or lifting rings for safer transportation. A comprehensive range of accessories, including lifting claws, extension tubes, base adaptors, support plates and threaded flanges, are available to further expand functionality.
With capacities ranging from 5 tonnes to 100 tonnes and multiple stroke lengths available, the Yale YS Universal Hydraulic Cylinder is a versatile solution for straightening steel structures, removing shafts and axles, lifting, positioning, weighing, testing and general maintenance or assembly work.
Safety & User Instructions
Always operate within the stated load capacity and maximum pressure of 700 bar.
Ensure the cylinder is correctly mounted using appropriate metric threads before pressurisation.
Avoid side loading beyond the designed tolerances, even with eccentric load protection.
Keep piston surfaces clean and free from debris to prevent seal damage.
Inspect hydraulic connections, couplers and seals regularly for wear or leaks.
Use only compatible Yale hydraulic pumps and accessories.
Follow all local safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
