Description

The Pewag Winner Profilift PLEW-CR Low-Temperature Weld-On Lifting Point is a high-performance lifting solution specifically designed for extreme cold-climate and low-temperature applications. With a certified operating temperature range down to -40°C, this lifting point is ideal for use in cold storage facilities, outdoor winter operations, transport equipment, steel fabrication and plant installations exposed to severe environmental conditions.

Manufactured from high-strength steel, the PLEW-CR delivers high working load limits in defined preferred load directions, ensuring safe and controlled lifting even when used in sub-zero temperatures. The lifting point remains fully functional within its rated temperature range without load reduction, maintaining safety and performance where standard lifting points may be unsuitable.

An integrated spring mechanism ensures the lifting ring remains correctly positioned during welding, handling and rigging. The ring is 180° foldable and must be aligned with the direction of pull before loading, allowing efficient force transfer and reducing the risk of side loading in cold-weather lifting operations.

Clear 45° and 60° inclination markings on the weld-on block simplify the assessment of permitted sling angles, supporting safe multi-leg and angled lifts even when visibility is reduced due to ice, snow or harsh weather conditions.

In addition to lifting, the PLEW-CR may also be used as a lashing point in cold environments. When used exclusively for lashing, the permissible lashing capacity is twice the nominal lifting capacity (LC in daN = 2 × WLL in kg). Once used for lashing, the lifting point must not be reused for lifting.

The lifting point is approved for long-term operation from -40°C up to +200°C, with defined reduction factors applicable only above this range or under shock loading conditions. This makes it a dependable choice for applications subject to extreme temperature variation.

Each lifting point is supplied with a comprehensive operating manual, forming an integral part of the product and covering safety guidelines, mounting instructions, inspection procedures and maintenance requirements. Welding must be carried out only by qualified personnel certified to EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent standards.

Every PLEW-CR Low-Temperature lifting point is permanently marked with its working load limit, manufacturer identification and serial/batch number, enabling full traceability throughout its service life. Available in capacities from 1.5 t to 4 t, it offers a reliable solution for low-temperature industrial lifting and lashing applications.

Welding must only be carried out by qualified welders certified to EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent.
