Description

The YaleLift 360 ARCTIC EDITION Hand Chain Hoist extends the proven capabilities of the standard YaleLift 360 into extreme low-temperature applications, making it the ideal lifting solution for cold storage facilities, Arctic and sub-Arctic environments, offshore installations, winter construction sites, energy, mining and infrastructure projects.

Developed and tested specifically for use at temperatures as low as -40øC, the ARCTIC EDITION has been engineered using special low-temperature materials and lubricants. All functional components, including the innovative 360ø rotating hand chain guide, have been rigorously validated through static and dynamic low-temperature testing to ensure safe, reliable operation without material embrittlement or functional failure.

Unlike standard hand chain hoists, which are typically limited to -20øC, the YaleLift 360 ARCTIC EDITION exceeds the requirements of DIN EN 13157 (Cranes ? Safety ? Hand Operated Cranes) and allows operators to work productively and safely in environments where conventional equipment would be unsuitable. User suitability for extreme cold operation can be confirmed with a certificate, providing additional assurance for critical applications.

A key advantage of the YaleLift 360 ARCTIC EDITION is its 360ø rotating hand chain guide, which allows the operator to pull the hand chain from virtually any direction. This significantly improves safety by enabling operation from outside the danger zone, even in confined spaces or awkward working positions. The hoist can also be used for horizontal pulling and tensioning, where permitted, further increasing versatility in cold-weather operations.

The hoist features a fully enclosed, robust stamped steel housing that protects all internal components from snow, ice, moisture and contamination. The enclosed gearbox and chain guide ensure consistent performance even in harsh outdoor conditions. An extremely low headroom design maximises usable lifting height, which is especially valuable in temporary structures, containers or restricted spaces often encountered in cold regions.

A quiet, high-performance brake system provides secure load holding at any position, while avoiding vulnerable ratchet pawls. Brake components and internal parts benefit from surface protection to enhance corrosion resistance and long service life. The hardened load sheave with precision-machined pockets ensures accurate chain engagement, smooth lifting motion and reduced wear.

The zinc-plated alloy steel load chain is optimally matched to the load sprocket and complies with all relevant national and international standards, ensuring safe and long-lasting operation even under extreme temperature conditions. Forged suspension and load hooks, manufactured from high-tensile steel, are designed to yield under overload rather than fracture. Both hooks rotate through 360ø and are fitted with robust safety latches for secure load attachment.

Available in capacities from 500kg to 20,000kg, the YaleLift 360 ARCTIC EDITION covers a wide range of lifting requirements:
– Single fall: 500kg ? 3,000kg
– Double fall: 5,000kg
– Triple fall: 10,000kg
– Six falls: 20,000kg

Despite its high lifting capacities, even the 20-tonne ARCTIC EDITION maintains a compact design with optimised chain falls for efficient operation and reduced weight.
