Description

The Yale UNOplus Series A Arctic Edition Ratchet Lever Hoist has been specifically developed for use in extreme low-temperature applications, making it the ideal solution for industries operating in cold climates such as offshore energy, oil and gas, utilities, mining, infrastructure maintenance and Arctic construction projects.

Based on the proven UNOplus Series A platform, the Arctic Edition retains the compact, lightweight and user-friendly design of the standard model while incorporating special materials, components and lubricants adapted for reliable operation at temperatures down to -40øC. All functions have been thoroughly tested and certified in complex low-temperature test procedures to ensure safe and consistent performance even under the harshest conditions.

Unlike standard hoists, which are typically rated for temperatures between -10øC and +50øC (or -20øC to +50øC for many CMCO products), the UNOplus Series A Arctic Edition exceeds EN 13157 requirements by providing verified functionality well beyond conventional limits. Both static and dynamic low-temperature tests have been carried out to eliminate the risk of malfunctions, brittle fracture or material failure during operation in sub-zero environments.

The hoist features a robust stamped steel housing that combines durability with a compact footprint, allowing it to be used in confined spaces while remaining easy to transport. Optimised gearing and improved bearings ensure smooth operation with minimal effort, even when wearing gloves or working in cold conditions that reduce dexterity.

A standard free chaining device enables fast attachment to the load by allowing the chain to be pulled freely through the hoist in both directions, improving efficiency and reducing set-up time. Robust chain guide rollers prevent chain fouling or jamming on the load sheave, ensuring consistent and controlled load movement.

The automatic screw-and-disc type load brake, fitted with corrosion-protected components and Arctic-rated lubricants, provides reliable load holding and precise control even at extremely low temperatures. The alloyed steel load chain, finished with zinc plating or yellow chromation, complies with national and international standards and offers excellent wear resistance in demanding environments.

Forged suspension and load hooks are manufactured from non-ageing, high-tensile steel and equipped with robust safety latches to ensure secure load attachment. A comfortable rubber hand grip enhances operator safety by reducing slippage and improving control during operation.

Each Yale UNOplus Series A Arctic Edition hoist is tested, approved and supplied with certification, confirming its suitability for safe use in temperatures down to -40øC. Available in capacities from 750kg to 6,000kg, it offers a reliable and professional solution for extreme cold lifting applications where safety and performance are critical.

Safety / User Instructions
Always operate within the specified Working Load Limit (WLL).
Ensure the hoist is the Arctic Edition when used in sub-zero environments.
Inspect the hoist, chain and hooks before each use, particularly after exposure to extreme cold.
Ensure safety latches are fully engaged prior to lifting.
Do not use for passenger elevation.
Follow EN 13157 and relevant UK lifting regulations at all times.
