Description
The Yale VEP solenoid directional valve range is designed for professional hydraulic systems requiring accurate, remote-controlled operation of hydraulic cylinders at pressures up to 700 bar. These electrically actuated valves provide smooth, responsive and repeatable control of both single-acting and double-acting hydraulic cylinders, making them ideal for industrial lifting, jacking, pressing and positioning applications.
Unlike manually operated valves, the VEP series allows hydraulic movement to be controlled via pendant remote controls, pressure switches or limit switches, improving operator safety and enabling automation or semi-automated processes. Each valve operates on a simple and reliable three-position control principle ? advance, hold and return ? ensuring predictable and safe cylinder behaviour at all times.
In the neutral (hold) position, the valve switches automatically to a pressureless circuit, directing oil flow back to the reservoir while the connected cylinder remains securely held under load. This design minimises heat build-up, protects system components and ensures stable load holding during pauses in operation.
Design and performance
Yale VEP valves feature a robust, long-life ball seal design that provides a leak-free load holding function in the neutral position. The direct-acting solenoids offer extremely fast reaction times, allowing cylinders to be controlled millimetre-by-millimetre, even in high-precision applications such as test rigs, press systems or synchronised lifting setups.
These valves are engineered for continuous duty (100% on/off operation), making them suitable for demanding industrial environments where reliability and uptime are critical. The compact construction allows valves to be mounted directly onto hydraulic power packs or connected remotely using hydraulic piping.
Integrated pressure control and monitoring
Every Yale VEP solenoid valve is supplied with a precision-adjustable pressure set valve, enabling the system pressure ? and therefore cylinder force ? to be limited anywhere between 0 and 700 bar. This feature provides essential protection for tools, cylinders and structures, while allowing fine control over lifting or pressing forces.
A glycerine-damped pressure gauge (GGY-631) is included as standard, with a measuring range of 0?1000 bar and a ?63 mm dial. This ensures clear, vibration-free pressure readings for safe operation and accurate system monitoring.
Modular flexibility
The modular design of the VEP valve series allows for customised hydraulic solutions, including multi-cylinder control systems or specific sequencing requirements. This makes the range particularly suitable for complex lifting frames, test benches and specialised machinery where standard valve layouts are not sufficient.
Both 3/3-way valves for single-acting cylinders and 4/3-way valves for double-acting cylinders are available, with two size options to suit different flow requirements.
