Description
Yale YBF Spring Balancers are engineered to support and counterbalance tools and equipment, allowing loads of up to 200kg to be moved effortlessly along the vertical axis. By compensating the weight of suspended tools, YBF balancers significantly reduce operator fatigue, enhance precision and improve overall workflow efficiency in production and assembly applications.
The YBF range is manufactured in accordance with DIN 15112 and features a tapered rope drum that ensures consistent load compensation throughout the entire working range. This advanced design allows tools to remain virtually weightless when positioned, providing smooth, controlled movement without sudden drops or excessive spring force.
The robust housing is produced from high-tensile aluminium pressure die casting, delivering excellent resistance to impact, wear and harsh industrial conditions. Inside the unit, a specially engineered spring assembly ensures reliable and consistent counterbalancing across repeated cycles, even in continuous-duty environments.
For ease of maintenance and maximum operator safety, the spring assembly is housed as a separate unit in a closed steel casing. This design improves handling during assembly and disassembly while significantly reducing the risk of injury. Wire rope replacement is quick and straightforward thanks to a small access slot in the housing, allowing the rope to be removed and reinstalled without dismantling the entire unit.
YBF spring balancers are equipped with a manual drum lock, enabling easy rope exchange or adjustment when changing the attached load. A load indicator fitted to selected models allows the operator to clearly read the capacity setting, ensuring accurate and safe adjustment.
Wear-resistant nylon rope guides are fitted on models from YBF-09 to YBF-200, reducing friction and wear on both the rope and housing, extending service life. The rope guide can be removed or installed on site without disassembling the rope, minimising downtime.
Upper and lower suspension eyes are provided for the attachment of secondary safety chains, offering additional protection and preventing accidental drops of both the balancer and the suspended load. Typical applications include spot-welding guns, riveting machines, slaughterhouse equipment and multiple nut-runner systems.
