Description
The Donati DRH Double Girder Electric Wire Rope Hoist is a premium heavy-duty lifting solution engineered for demanding industrial environments requiring high load capacity, precision handling, and long-term reliability. Designed to operate on double girder overhead crane systems, this configuration maximises lifting height while ensuring smooth and stable load movement across crane beams.
With a working load limit of up to 50,000 kg, the DRH hoist is ideally suited for factories, production halls, shipyards, engineering workshops, and large-scale manufacturing facilities. Its robust construction and advanced mechanical design ensure safe and efficient lifting of heavy components, machinery, and industrial materials.
What is a Double Girder Hoist?
Unlike standard hoist configurations, the double girder trolley arrangement allows the hoist to travel along rails mounted on top of the crane beams. This enables maximum hook run and lifting height, making it the ideal solution where headroom is limited or maximum vertical lifting space is required.
The hoist can be installed in longitudinal, transversal, or suspended configurations, offering flexibility to suit a wide range of crane designs and structural layouts. This adaptability makes the DRH hoist a highly versatile solution for bespoke crane systems and complex material handling applications.

Donati Hoist Proven Performance
At the core of the system is Donati’s proven electric wire rope hoist technology, featuring self-braking conical motors, precision-engineered components, and high-quality electrical systems. These features ensure consistent performance, smooth operation, and enhanced safety under load.
Power Trolley Mounted
The powered trolley system is equipped with a conical motor providing progressive start-up and braking, allowing smooth acceleration and deceleration during operation. This results in precise load positioning, which is essential when handling heavy or sensitive components.
The trolley frame is constructed from high-strength steel and includes two driven wheels and two idler wheels, all manufactured from carbon steel and mounted on permanently lubricated bearings. An integrated anti-derailment system enhances operational safety and ensures stable movement across crane rails.
Donati Hoists are Built to Last
The hoist also benefits from helically cut gear reducers, permanently lubricated in an oil bath for quiet operation, reduced wear, and minimal maintenance requirements. Multiple travel speed options are available, including single and dual-speed configurations, allowing operators to tailor performance to specific lifting tasks.
Electrical safety is a key feature of the DRH hoist, with IP-rated protection, thermal motor sensors, and integrated overload protection systems ensuring safe operation in demanding industrial environments. The system is designed to operate reliably in temperatures from –10°C to +40°C, making it suitable for a wide range of working conditions.
All components are precision-machined and finished with water-repellent electrostatic paint, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and ensuring a long operational lifespan, even in harsh environments.
