The RUD VRS-F / VRS STARPOINT Rotating Lifting Ring with UNC Inch Thread is a high-performance lifting point engineered for safe and reliable lifting from UNC threaded holes commonly found in machinery, tooling, and heavy equipment. Manufactured by RUD, a global leader in lifting and load-securing technology, this STARPOINT system delivers significantly higher safety margins and Working Load Limits compared with conventional eye bolts manufactured to DIN standards.
The VRS STARPOINT range features a fully rotatable lifting ring (360°) that automatically aligns in the direction of the applied load. This self-adjusting design reduces transverse forces, minimises bending stress, and ensures optimal load transfer during lifting. The stated Working Load Limit (WLL) always represents the minimum guaranteed capacity in the worst-case loading direction, providing maximum safety even when loads are applied at an angle.
This product range is available in two variants:
- VRS-F STARPOINT rotating lifting ring (with key) – supplied with a star profile key for controlled tightening and removal
- VRS STARPOINT rotating lifting ring (without key) – for applications where keyed installation is not required
Both variants utilise a non-detachable ICE-Bolt manufactured from patented high-strength steel, reducing the risk of incorrect bolt substitution and ensuring consistent lifting performance. The ICE-Bolt offers increased toughness, higher bending strength, and reduced wear, making it suitable for demanding environments and low-temperature applications.
The UNC inch thread range covers sizes from 1/4″-20 UNC up to 2″-4.5 UNC, with Working Load Limits ranging from 0.1 tonnes up to 12 tonnes, depending on size and configuration. This wide selection allows engineers and lifting professionals to specify the correct lifting point for both light-duty and extremely heavy lifting operations.
Installation is quick, secure, and repeatable. The VRS-F variant uses the star profile key to ensure the correct tightening torque is applied, while the lifting ring remains freely rotatable after installation, allowing effortless alignment with hooks, shackles, or slings.
All RUD VRS-F / VRS STARPOINT rotating lifting ring lifting points are tested and certified by DGUV, in accordance with GS-OA-15-04, ensuring full compliance with recognised lifting safety standards.
