Description
The Pewag Grade 10 Two Leg Chain Sling is a versatile and robust lifting solution designed for balanced and semi-balanced loads where improved load stability is required. Manufactured using Pewags premium Grade 10 lifting chain, this sling complies fully with EN 818-2 and EN 818-4, while offering a significantly higher working load limit than traditional Grade 8 slings.
Grade 10 chain provides a minimum breaking stress of 1,000 N/mm², allowing for increased lifting capacity without increasing chain size. In many applications, a Pewag Grade 10 two leg sling can be specified one size smaller than an equivalent Grade 8 sling, delivering a lighter, easier-to-handle assembly without compromising safety.
The two leg configuration allows loads to be lifted from two lifting points, improving balance and reducing rotation during lifting. Each leg connects to a central master link, ensuring even load distribution when used at the correct angle of inclination. Load ratings are clearly defined for up to 45° and 45°60° lifting angles, in accordance with recognised standards.
All Pewag Grade 10 chain slings feature high-visibility orange powder-coated chain, making grade identification fast and simple on busy sites. Each sling is fitted with a distinctive oval Pewag ID tag, displaying chain size, grade, working load limit, traceability code and compliance information.
Two leg chain slings can be configured with a range of load hooks, including sling hooks with latch, self-locking safety hooks, or C hooks. Optional shortening grab hooks allow the effective length of each leg to be adjusted, making the sling suitable for asymmetric loads or varying lifting geometries.
Every sling is manufactured to order with the effective working length specified, and is supplied complete with a Declaration of Conformity and safe use instructions, ensuring compliance with LOLER and site safety requirements.
Applications
Pewag Grade 10 two leg chain slings are commonly used for:
Lifting loads with two lifting points
Steel fabrications, frames and beams
Machinery and plant equipment
Structural steel erection
Engineering and manufacturing environments
Lifting where improved load stability is required
Safety & Load Rating Information
Load capacity depends on angle of inclination
Maximum WLL applies when legs are symmetrical
Do not exceed the stated Working Load Limit
Inspect sling before every lift for wear or damage
Avoid shock loading and side loading of hooks
Reduce rated capacity when used in severe conditions
