Description
The Crosby IPU10S Vertical Plate Lifting Clamp is specially engineered for the safe lifting, turning, and transfer of stainless steel plates and fabrications. Designed to handle materials that require protection from surface damage or contamination, the IPU10S clamp is an ideal solution for stainless steel handling applications across fabrication and manufacturing industries.
The clamp features a welded alloy steel body, delivering excellent strength while maintaining a compact and efficient design. Forged alloy components are used where additional strength is required, ensuring durability and long-term reliability in demanding lifting environments.
A key feature of the IPU10S model is the universal hoisting eye, which allows the clamp to be lifted from multiple directions. This flexibility makes it suitable for use with single or multi-leg sling configurations without introducing side loading, improving both safety and operational efficiency.
The clamp provides a full 180 turning range, allowing steel plates and fabrications to be safely lifted from horizontal to vertical positions and returned to horizontal when required. This makes the clamp particularly useful for fabrication processes where materials must be rotated or repositioned during handling.
For improved control during operation, the clamp incorporates a lock-open and lock-closed mechanism with latch, allowing operators to apply pretension to the material before lifting and safely release the load when finished.
Each clamp is individually proof tested to two times the working load limit and supplied with certification. For safety verification and identification, the Crosby IP logo, working load limit, and jaw opening are permanently stamped on the clamp body.
To ensure full traceability, every clamp is individually serialised, with the serial number and proof load test date stamped directly onto the clamp body. Each unit is supplied with a user manual and proof load test certificate.
The IPU10S clamp range offers working load limits from 0.5 tonnes to 9 tonnes, making it suitable for handling stainless steel plates across a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing operations. Maintenance and repair kits are available to ensure continued safe operation and long service life.
Designed in accordance with EN 13155 and ASME B30.20 design factors, the Crosby IPU10S vertical lifting clamp provides a reliable and specialised solution for stainless steel material handling.
