Description
The Crosby IP10S Vertical Plate Lifting Clamp is specially designed for the safe lifting, turning, and transfer of stainless steel plates and fabricated components. Engineered to prevent contamination and surface damage during handling, this clamp is ideal for industries where stainless steel materials are commonly used.
Manufactured with a welded alloy steel body, the clamp provides excellent strength while maintaining a compact and efficient design for demanding lifting environments. Forged alloy steel components are incorporated where additional strength is required, ensuring long service life and reliable performance.
The IP10S model is designed specifically for stainless steel materials, making it suitable for applications where standard clamps may not be appropriate due to material compatibility or contamination concerns.
A fixed hoisting eye provides stable lifting and ensures secure positioning during operation. The clamp is capable of a full 180 turning range, allowing materials to be lifted from horizontal to vertical positions and returned to horizontal when required. This capability makes the clamp ideal for material transfer, positioning, and fabrication operations.
For safe handling and positioning, the clamp features a lock-open and lock-closed latch mechanism, allowing operators to apply pretension to the material before lifting and release the clamp safely once the lifting task is completed.
Each clamp is individually proof tested to two times the working load limit and supplied with certification to confirm performance and safety compliance. For identification and verification, the Crosby IP logo, working load limit, and jaw opening are permanently stamped on the clamp body.
Every clamp is individually serialised, with the serial number and proof load test date stamped onto the body to provide full traceability. Each unit is supplied with a user manual and proof load test certificate.
The IP10S clamp range offers working load limits from 0.5 tonnes to 9 tonnes, providing a reliable lifting solution for stainless steel plate handling across a wide variety of industrial environments. Maintenance and repair kits are available to support continued safe operation.
Designed in accordance with EN 13155 and ASME B30.20 design factors, the Crosby IP10S vertical lifting clamp provides a specialised lifting solution for stainless steel applications.
Safety & User Instructions
Always verify the working load limit (WLL) before lifting.
Ensure the plate thickness falls within the specified jaw opening range.
Confirm the clamp is correctly positioned and fully engaged before lifting.
Do not exceed the rated lifting capacity.
Minimum working load is 5% of maximum WLL for the 0.5t model.
Minimum working load is 10% of maximum WLL for all other models.
For materials with surface hardness up to 279HV10, only 5% of the minimum WLL is required.
Inspect clamps regularly for signs of wear, damage, or deformation.
Ensure gripping surfaces are clean and free from oil, grease, or debris.
Replace worn components using approved Crosby maintenance kits.
Always follow proper lifting procedures and wear suitable PPE.
