Description

The Crosby IP10 Vertical Plate Lifting Clamp is a heavy-duty clamp designed for the safe lifting, turning, and transfer of steel plates, sheet materials, and fabricated components. Built for reliability and versatility, the IP10 clamp is suitable for a wide range of industrial lifting applications involving vertical plate handling.

Manufactured with a welded alloy steel body, the clamp provides excellent strength while maintaining a compact and efficient design. Forged alloy steel components are incorporated where additional strength is required, ensuring durability and long-term performance in demanding environments.

The IP10 clamp is the standard model within the Crosby IP10 clamp range, designed for use with materials with a surface hardness up to 363HV10 (345 HB). This makes it suitable for most standard steel plate handling applications.

A full 180 turning range allows plates and components to be lifted from horizontal to vertical positions and returned back to horizontal as needed. This capability supports safe and efficient material transfer, rotation, and positioning during fabrication and processing operations.

For secure operation, the clamp incorporates a lock-open and lock-closed mechanism with latch, allowing operators to apply pretension to the material before lifting and safely release the load when the lifting operation is complete.

Each clamp is individually proof tested to two times the working load limit and supplied with certification to confirm safe performance. The Crosby IP logo, working load limit, and jaw opening capacity are permanently stamped on the clamp body for easy identification and verification.

Every clamp is individually serialised, with the serial number and proof load test date stamped on the body for full traceability. Each unit is supplied with a user manual and proof load test certificate.

The IP10 clamp range offers working load limits from 0.5 tonnes up to 30 tonnes, making it suitable for everything from light plate handling to heavy industrial lifting applications. Maintenance and repair kits are available to support long-term safe operation.

Designed in accordance with EN 13155 and ASME B30.20 design factors, the Crosby IP10 vertical plate lifting clamp provides a dependable solution for steel plate lifting and material handling.

Safety & User Instructions
Always verify the working load limit (WLL) before lifting.
Ensure the plate thickness falls within the specified jaw opening range.
Confirm the clamp is properly seated and gripping the plate before lifting.
Do not exceed the rated lifting capacity.
Minimum working load is 5% of maximum WLL for the 0.5t model.
Minimum working load is 10% of maximum WLL for all other models.
For materials with surface hardness up to 279HV10, only 5% of the minimum WLL is required.
Inspect clamps regularly for wear, cracks, or deformation.
Ensure gripping surfaces are clean and free from oil, grease, or debris.
Replace worn parts using approved Crosby maintenance kits.
Always follow correct lifting procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
