Description

The Crosby IPU10A Automatic Vertical Plate Lifting Clamp is designed for the safe lifting and vertical transport of steel plates and fabricated components. Featuring an automatic closing mechanism, this clamp securely grips the load during lifting operations, providing reliable and efficient plate handling in industrial environments.

Constructed with a welded alloy steel body, the IPU10A clamp provides excellent strength while maintaining a compact and practical design. Forged alloy steel components are used where additional strength is required, ensuring durability and long service life under demanding lifting conditions.

The clamp allows for a full 180 turning range, enabling plates and fabrications to be lifted from horizontal to vertical positions and returned back to horizontal as needed. This makes the IPU10A suitable for applications involving material transfer, repositioning, and fabrication handling.

For safe handling and positioning, the clamp incorporates a lock-open and lock-closed mechanism with latch, allowing operators to apply pretension to the material before lifting and safely release the load after the operation is complete.

Each clamp is individually proof tested to two times the working load limit and supplied with certification to confirm compliance and performance. For identification and verification, the Crosby IP logo, working load limit, and jaw opening are permanently stamped on the clamp body.

Every unit is individually serialised, with the serial number and proof load test date stamped directly onto the body for full traceability. Each clamp is supplied with a user manual and proof load test certificate.

The IPU10A clamp range offers working load limits of 1 tonne, 2 tonnes, and 6 tonnes, providing a reliable lifting solution for a variety of steel plate handling applications. Maintenance and repair kits are available to help maintain safe and reliable operation throughout the clamps service life.

Designed in accordance with EN 13155 and ASME B30.20 design factors, the Crosby IPU10A automatic vertical plate clamp provides dependable performance for vertical plate lifting operations.

Safety & User Instructions
Always verify the working load limit (WLL) before lifting.
Ensure the plate thickness is within the specified jaw opening range.
Confirm the clamp is correctly positioned and securely gripping the plate before lifting.
Do not exceed the rated lifting capacity.
Minimum working load is 10% of the maximum WLL.
For materials with surface hardness up to 279HV10, only 5% of the minimum WLL is required.
Inspect clamps regularly for wear, cracks, or deformation.
Ensure gripping surfaces are clean and free from oil, grease, or debris.
Replace worn parts using approved Crosby maintenance kits.
Always follow correct lifting procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
