At its core, the PROCB14 features Tiger’s patented Quad Cam Pawl System, a revolutionary braking design that guarantees continuous engagement of at least one of the two reciprocating pawls with the ratchet wheel. This ensures the load is always securely held, even if a pawl spring fails, providing total operational safety in compliance with BS 4898:1973.

The optional load limiter enhances protection by preventing the hoist from being overloaded. When the rated capacity is exceeded, the clutch within the hand wheel slips, allowing controlled movement without additional lifting force being transmitted through the gearbox. This system, DNV GL Verification tested to NORSOK R-002, ensures consistent safety and durability during demanding lifting operations.

The PROCB14 also benefits from Tiger’s 8-point multi-start pinion shaft, which provides a measurable improvement in brake efficiency and responsiveness compared with conventional 4-point designs.
