The Tiger SS20 Configurable Corrosion-Resistant Chain Block is engineered for demanding offshore, marine, and heavy industrial lifting applications where adaptability and durability are essential. Manufactured in Tiger’s ISO-certified facility from the highest quality steel, precision-machined and corrosion-protected throughout, this model offers unmatched reliability and flexible configuration options to meet diverse operational requirements.

Like all models in the SS20 series, this version is specifically designed for use in saltwater, splash-zone, and coastal environments, where long-term corrosion protection and operational safety are critical. Every component is protected with Tiger’s proprietary C5M coating system to ISO 12944, ensuring exceptional resistance to rust, saltwater, and UV degradation.

The configurable chain-end system allows the user to select the most suitable connection type for their operation. Chain end fittings such as self-locking safety hooks and clevis shackles to reevable master links or sling hook fittings. Each option is drop-forged, tested to a 4:1 factor of safety, and fully certified to international lifting standards.

Corrosion-Resistant Design and Coating System

Configurable Chain-End Options (Up to 10 t WLL)
The SS20 Configurable Version supports a variety of connection types, each designed to provide maximum flexibility and safety for different lifting applications:
-Self-Locking (Safety) Hook – Ideal for general lifting operations.
-Clevis Shackle – Suitable for rigging or multi-point lift assemblies.
-Reevable Master (Egg) Link – Allows connection to slings or spreader beams.
-Sling Hook – For quick connection and disconnection in frequent use operations.

All end fittings are drop-forged, heat-treated, and tested to 4:1 FOS, ensuring safety and performance across the entire configuration range.

Patented Quad Cam Brake System
The SS20 range incorporates Tiger’s patented Quad Cam Pawl System, providing permanent engagement of at least one pawl at all times. In the unlikely event of a pawl spring failure, the brake remains fully functional, a major safety advantage over conventional twin-pawl systems. This design enables safe operation at angles up to 60° from vertical, without deration, for “fleeting,” “drifting,” or “cross-hauling” applications.

Overload Protection (Optional)
The SS20 Configurable Version can be fitted with Tiger’s slipping clutch overload limiter, verified by DNV GL in accordance with NORSOK R-002. When activated, the clutch prevents over-lifting, while allowing controlled lowering of the load, protecting both the operator and the equipment.

Performance and Testing
Every SS20 hoist is rigorously tested and certified before dispatch:
-Proof Load: 1.5 × Rated Capacity
-Light Load Test: 2% of WLL
-Ultimate Strength Test: ≥ 4 × WLL
-Chain Anchorage Test: ≥ 2.5 × WLL
-Cyclic Testing: Over 1500 cycles
Each unit is supplied with a Certificate of Conformity and Test Certificate per Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
