Description
The Thern Ensign 500 Series Portable Lifting Davit Crane (5PA5) is designed to provide reliable, portable lifting where extra hook height and smooth load rotation are required. With a working load limit of up to 226 kg, this davit crane is particularly suited to lifting equipment over safety rails, access gates, tanks, and other tall obstacles commonly found in industrial and water treatment environments.
The Ensign 500 features a longer mast and boom design, delivering a maximum hook height of up to 2565 mm when used with a pedestal base. This extended reach allows operators to easily lift pumps, tools, and maintenance equipment over barriers without the need for excessive boom adjustment.
Designed for efficient and user-friendly operation, the crane can lift, lower, and rotate loads smoothly through a full 360 range, enabling precise load placement and improved control during lifting operations. An optional rotational lock system can be added to hold the crane in position during unloading or when placing loads in confined areas.
The crane incorporates a number of features that enhance portability and usability. Quick-release pins and hardware allow the crane to be assembled and dismantled quickly without tools, making it easy to transport between locations or store when not in use. A quick-disconnect wire rope feature allows the crane to be relocated while keeping the rope connected to the load, increasing efficiency during maintenance operations.
Manufactured from heavy-duty welded structural steel tubing, the Ensign 500 offers excellent strength and minimal structural deflection while meeting or exceeding ASTM structural standards. The cranes corrosion-resistant powder-coated frame and stainless steel fasteners provide long-term durability in harsh environments. For demanding or corrosive locations, galvanised, epoxy-coated, and stainless steel finishes are also available.
The Ensign 500 can be configured with a variety of manual and powered winch systems, allowing users to tailor the crane to their specific lifting requirements. Options include spur gear hand winches, worm gear hand winches, and electric winches, with electric models available in several motor configurations including AC, DC, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
Installation flexibility is further enhanced by multiple mounting base options, including pedestal, flush-mount, and wall-mount bases. These options allow the crane to be installed in a wide range of environments, such as pump stations, plant maintenance areas, marine docks, and industrial facilities.
With its extended hook height, portable design, and robust construction, the Thern Ensign 500 Series Portable Davit Crane provides a practical and efficient lifting solution for maintenance teams and industrial operators working in environments where clearance and flexibility are essential.
