Description

The Thern First Mate Series 5PF5 Portable Lifting Davit Crane is a compact, lightweight lifting solution designed for simple lifting tasks in industrial, marine, and maintenance environments. With a maximum working load limit (WLL) of 385 kg, this portable davit crane offers reliable lifting performance while maintaining exceptional portability and ease of operation.

Designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind, the First Mate Series features a fixed-length boom with three adjustable operating angles. This streamlined design eliminates unnecessary complexity while providing the lifting reach needed for common maintenance and equipment handling tasks. The result is a lightweight davit crane that is easy to transport, assemble, and operate, making it ideal for locations where lifting equipment must be moved frequently.

The crane rotates a full 360 degrees, allowing operators to precisely position loads during lifting and placement. A Nylatron base bushing ensures smooth rotation even under load, helping operators manoeuvre equipment safely and efficiently in confined spaces. An optional rotation lock is also available to stabilise the load during unloading or positioning.

The First Mate Series davit crane is highly adaptable, supporting both manual and powered winch operation. Operators can choose between spur gear or worm gear manual winches for occasional lifts, or specify electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic powered winches for more demanding or repetitive lifting tasks. This flexibility allows the crane to be configured for a wide range of lifting requirements.

Portability is a key advantage of the First Mate crane. Quick-release stainless steel pins and hardware allow the crane to be assembled or disassembled quickly without tools, enabling easy transport between locations or convenient storage when not in use. The integrated quick-disconnect wire rope feature allows the crane to be relocated while keeping the rope connected to the load, increasing efficiency during maintenance tasks.

Constructed from heavy-duty welded structural steel tubing, the First Mate crane is built for long service life. The robust design minimises structural deflection and meets or exceeds relevant ASTM standards for durability and safety. A corrosion-resistant powder-coated finish and stainless steel fasteners protect the crane from harsh environmental conditions. For particularly demanding environments, galvanised, epoxy-coated, or stainless steel versions are available.

The First Mate Series supports a variety of mounting configurations, including pedestal, flush-mount, wall-mount, and mobile wheel-base options. These mounting systems allow facilities to install multiple mounting points or move the crane easily between work areas, improving operational flexibility.

Ideal for water and wastewater maintenance, pump lifting, light industrial maintenance, marine service operations, and equipment handling, the Thern First Mate Portable Davit Crane delivers dependable lifting power in a compact, economical design.
